Growing up as a gifted learner, I felt a lot of shame and confusion. I had a love-hate relationship with my giftedness. It was my source of pride and joy, my source of love and attention, and my source of pain.

One would think I should feel rather good about myself after overcoming suicidal depression, getting my dream music degree, and building a successful business, but it doesn't work that way for my brain.

My niece Angel was the reason I decided to start speaking. Whenever I want to give up, I think of her. Children don’t realize this, but they are the source of adults’ strength and courage.
